NODI is a new brand creating safer tech products for kids — technology that sparks curiosity, not screen addiction. Its first product, NODI Flip, is a screen-free audio device that lets kids listen, talk, and stay connected, without the risks of smartphones. Designed for ages 5+, it feels as cool as a phone, but safe enough for parents to love.
The founders came to me early in the product’s conception phase to start building the brand identity. This early start proved invaluable — as we developed the brand, the founders collaborated with PONG,
a Berlin-based industrial design studio, allowing the identity to directly influence the product design. The capsule-shaped buttons, rounded corners, and signature yellow accent used for interactive elements originated from the brand direction.
I worked closely with the founders to bring NODI from concept to launch — defining the visual identity, designing packaging, e-commerce site, and marketing materials, and guiding color choices for the silicone protective cases. I also art directed a photo and video shoot to create first library of photos of kids using NODI Flip.
After a year of collaboration, NODI Flip launched in a pre-sale of 3,000 units and sold out within days.
I continue to work with the NODI team as they expand into the German market and prepare for future international launches.
The result: a playful, bold, and slightly quirky brand, a new approach to children’s technology that feels both smart and joyful.
